The Definition of Marriage
In the Bible we learn in the beginning Adam and Eve were created. And God taught his law that marriage is suppose to be between a man and woman. God created man and woman separate so that together they could procreate and bring children into the world. Its hard when reading this case not to be swayed because I want everyone to be happy and feel equal. However to do so would go against one of the most precious gifts and laws God has given us. He is our Father and has a plan for all of us. A big part of this plan is for children to be born to a mother and father.
This truth is misunderstood today particularly by today's youth. I have two children in High School that have dealt with persecution and been confused about where they stand themselves on this issue. They are chastised and looked down on for not believing that everyone should be able to love who they want. And I have counselled my children that yes we all have agency and can make decisions. But we don't always have to agree with decisions that are being made. We always love, but don't have to condone beliefs that are contrary to what God has taught us. I have always taught my children to defend the truth, and fear God more than man. This was something I was taught growing up, but I didn't deal with this subject as much as my children have to. Times are changing and I can't help but think about how this is another reason to share God's plan with others. To teach others the importance of marriage between man and a woman. My hope is that defending this truth will always be done with the utmost love and respect with those that think and live differently than we do.
One of my favorite quotes.
